Texts and meanings

The stotras, keerthanas, chalisas, aartis and other texts are reproduced from tradition and from public-domain and traditional printed sources named on each page. Readings vary between regions, lineages and editions; where a line in your family's tradition differs from ours, your tradition is not wrong. Meanings and explanations are our team's understanding written in simple language; they are not authoritative commentary and are not a substitute for a guru, a priest or a scholarly edition.

Festivals, vrathams and pooja procedures

Dates are taken from printed panchangams and can differ by region and by the panchangam followed; confirm the date and the muhurtam with your local temple or priest. Pooja procedures describe a common practice and are not prescriptions; follow your family custom and your priest's guidance. Nothing here is medical, legal, financial or astrological advice, and fasting or other observances should be adapted to your health.

Study material

The study section (workbook answers and question papers) is educational material written for students; it is not an official answer key and examination boards are not connected with it.

Videos are embedded from YouTube and belong to their uploaders; we choose them for their rendering of the text, not for anything else said in them. Pages we link to outside bhaktived.com are not under our control.
