BhaktiVed

About BhaktiVed

BhaktiVed is a devotional library for daily worship: stotras, keerthanas, chalisas, aartis, suprabhatams and bhajans, with their meanings, in Telugu first and in Hindi and English alongside. It lives on this website and in the BhaktiVed Android app, and both read the same library.

What you will find

  • Texts to recite and sing: Venkateswara Suprabhatam, Hanuman Chalisa, Annamacharya and Tyagaraja keerthanas, Ramadasu, Govinda namalu, Ayyappa sarana ghosha, Lalitha and Vishnu sahasranamas, aartis and mangala harathulu, and hundreds more, in large clear type, with a script switch between Telugu, Devanagari and English letters.
  • Meanings and explanations written in simple language, verse by verse where we have them.
  • Festivals, vrathams and pooja vidhanams, with the procedure and the texts you need on the day.
  • Today's stotram on the home page, chosen by the weekday and the festival calendar.
  • Listening: a curated video for many texts, and recordings where we hold the rights.

How we work

Every text shows its source. Traditional and public-domain texts are reproduced freely; the articles and meanings are written by our team; photographs are either our own or published under a free licence with the credit shown; recordings are published only with a recorded right to do so. We correct mistakes quickly: every page and every screen in the app has a way to report one.

BhaktiVed carries no advertising and needs no login. The app works fully offline once installed.

Who we are

BhaktiVed is run by a small independent team of Telugu devotees who started this site to keep the texts of daily worship accurate, readable and free. We are not affiliated with any temple, trust, publisher or political body.

Write to us at [email protected]: corrections, requests for a text, and permissions for your recording or photograph are all welcome.
